Operator instructions

7.1

Safety instructions

IMPORTANT - Failure to observe the following safety
rules may cause injury or damage to equipment.
IMPORTANT - The machine is not approved as a road
vehicle and may not be used on public roads.
7.1.1
Checks to be performed before starting up the
machine.
Before using the machine, make sure all safety devices are
positioned correctly and are in good condition.
7.1.2
Checks to be performed and behaviour to be
adopted once the machine has been started up.
If the machine starts to make anomalous noises, turn off
immediately. Do not start up the machine until the cause of the
noise has been eliminated. Never leave the key in the key switch
when the machine is unattended. Never allow people to approach
the machine while in operation. Monitor correct operation of the
work cycle and stop the machine immediately in the case of
anomalous operation.
7.2
Prohibited operations
Adjustment, maintenance and/or lubrication may not be
performed with the machine on.
7.3
Training
All operators must be suitably trained, including with hands-on
experience. This training should emphasise:
That the machine may not be used on public roads;
That passengers may not be transported;
The need for attention and concentration while working;
Control of the machine with the operator seated slipping
along a slope cannot be re-established by using the
brakes. The main reasons for the lack of control are:
Insufficient wheel grip;
Excessive speed;
Inadequate braking;
Type of machine unsuitable for the work to be done;
Unawareness of the effect of ground conditions in
general and slopes in particular;
Do not operate the engine in closed spaces where
harmful carbon monoxide fumes may build up;
Do not use the machine on slopes of greater than 12%.
Remember there is no such thing as a "safe" slope;
Do not stop or start the machine suddenly while going up
or down a slope;
Engage the clutch (or forward movement device) slowly
and always keep the machine in gear, particularly when
going down a slope;
Reduce machine speed on slopes and around tight
bends;
Pay attention to possible bumps, holes or other hidden
dangers;
Do not change direction suddenly;
Take care in reverse;
Never use the machine with defective guards or without
the safety devices;
Before leaving the place of work, unplug from the power
socket and activate the parking brake. Turn off the
engine and remove the ignition key.
7.4
Hidden dangers
Use of machines with internal combustion engine in
closed or poorly ventilated environments (e.g.
greenhouses, warehouses, workshops, stalls, vertical
covered silos, etc) and the resulting combustion
fumes given off from the exhaust represent a risk of
intoxication and may cause injury or death.
7.5
Preliminary checks and operations
IMPORTANT: do not start the machine up while the
preliminary checks and operations are underway
Failure to observe these instructions may cause
injury or damage to equipment.
For model with internal combustion engine:
With the engine cold, check that the oil level is between
the maximum and minimum marks.
