Care and Safety Instructions.
Save these instructions:
1 - Initial safeguards
• Remove all contents from the pressure cooker, making sure that the
working valve is not left inside the box or the pressure cooker;
• Remove all labels and thoroughly wash the pressure cooker;
• Read all the instructions carefully before using the pressure cooker,
especially the "Basic Information" on page 15, item 4.;.
• Apply a little cooking oil on the sealing ring and along the rim of the
pressure cooker body. This will facilitate the opening and closing of the
lid (Figs. 1 and 2). This procedure should be repeated before each use.

3 - Valves and safety systems
For your safety, the Tramontina pressure cooker is equipped with the
following valves and safety systems:
A - Working valve: indicates when the pressure cooker has
reached the selected pressure level.
B - Safety valve: releases pressure if the working valve
becomes blocked.
C - Side pressure release system: allows the release of
excess steam if there is a buildup of pressure.
D - Safety lock button: prevents pressure buildup if the lid
is not closed properly and prevents the lid from being
opened before all pressure is released.

4 - Basic Information

Always follow these basic safety precautions when using the pressure cooker:
Before using your Tramontina Pressure Cooker, read these instructions carefully.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Always handle the pressure cooker using the
heat resistant bakelite handles;
• Keep children away from the pressure cooker and keep the pressure
cooker away from fire;
• Do not use the pressure cooker inside an oven.
• Be very careful in handling the pressure cooker when it contains hot liquids;
• Do not use the pressure cooker for other than its intended use;
• This pressure cooker is capable of 12 psi of pressure. Improper use may
result in injuries. Close the pressure cooker properly before using. Read
"How to safety use the Pressure Cooker" (page 16);
