Installation
Attention! Dangerous electrical voltage.
Unit sections, connections and pond water could carry dangerous voltage if the electrical installation of the
unit is incorrectly performed.
Possible consequences: Death or severe injury when touching unit sections, connections or in the event
of contact with the pond water.
Protective measures: Ensure a minimum distance of 2 m from the pond edge for safety transformers and
mains sockets. For the installation of mains sockets, power cables and safety transformers, choose a
location, which cannot be flooded. Protect mains sockets and plug connections from moisture. When
routing the connection cable, ensure its protection so that damage is excluded.
Connection to the water filter (B)
Plug the union nut over the stepped hose connection, fasten hose (1" - 1 1/2") on the stepped hose connection and, if
necessary, fasten with the hose clip, plug stepped hose connection into the pump outlet, tighten the union nut, then
connect the other end of the hose to the water filter.
Connection to the satellite filter (C) or skimmer (D)
Plug the union nut over the stepped hose connection, fasten the hose to the satellite filter on the stepped hose connec-
tion, insert the latter into the inlet regulator of the strainer casing, then fasten union nut.
Important! If you operate the pump in the strainer casing when submerged, ensure that the satellite filter or
skimmer is always connected to the inlet regulator (B4) or that the inlet regulator is completely closed („0"
position)!
Start-up
Caution! Do not damage the unit.
Protective measures: Never run the unit without water.
The unit switches on automatically when connected to power. During start-up, the pump automatically undergoes a
pre-programmed self-test of approx. two minutes (Environmental Function Control (EFC)). The pump runs through
various speeds and detects whether it runs dry (is blocked) or is submerged. The pump switches off automatically after
approx. 90 seconds if it runs dry or is blocked. In the event of a malfunction, disconnect the power supply and flood the
pump or remove the obstacle. Following this, the unit can be restarted.

Maintenance and cleaning

Remove the hoses from the unit. Press in the engagement points on both sides of the outlet opening to the water filter
and open the strainer casing, remove the pump from the strainer casing, remove the inlet regulator from its guide,
rotate the pump housing, then clean the impeller vanes using a brush.
Clean strainer casings, hose connections and inlet regulator using clear water and a brush. After cleaning, fit the unit in
the reverse order.
Storage/Over-wintering (E)
The unit is frost resistant to minus 20 °C. Should you store the unit outside of the pond, clean it thoroughly and check it
for damage, then store immersed in water. Do not immerse the power plug in the water!
Disposal
Dispose of the unit in accordance with the national legal regulations.
