4.2 Adaptation
► Adjust the splints individually.
4.3 Application
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to
improper or excessively tight application
► Ensure that the orthosis is applied properly and fits correctly.
► Inform the patient.
CAUTION
Excessively tight application to the body
Skin irritation due to overheating, local pressure points due to tight applic­
ation to the body
► Check the correct sit and fit of the product.
► Do not use the product in case of a known heat allergy.
► When in doubt, do not continue to use the product if skin irritation
occurs.
► Inform the patient.
NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
► Instruct the patient to inspect the product for proper functionality, wear
and damage prior to each use.
► Advise the patient that the product must not be used if the product or
part of the product exhibits signs of wear (e.g. cracks, deformation,
poor fit) or damage.
> Open all hook-and-loop closures on the orthosis.
1) Pull the orthosis over the arm until the pad comes to rest at the height of
the elbow joint.
2) Close the hook-and-loop closures one by one, from the lower arm
towards the body (see fig. 2).
