Never start or leave the engine running in a confided
area or without proper ventilation. The gas from the
exhaust contains carbon monoxide which is
inodorous and lethal.
This shredder is provided with a four-cycle motor
and there is no oil added to the gasoline (for
shredders with motor).
Before operating, make sure the crankcase oil level is
right.
The motor leaves factory with neither oil nor fuel.
Never store the equipment with gasoline in the tank.
If required, keep the engine on until it turns off due
to the lack of fuel, this way, all fuel will be consumed
before leaving the machine unused for long periods
of time.
Starting the Gasoline-powered Motor
Ensure the motor has oil in the crankcase and at
the correct level.
Check if the fuel tank is fueled with regular gasoline
and if the fuel valve (1) is open.

Gasoline Motor (JK-500G/700G)
Important Recommendations
2
Never service the shredder with the motor on.
For any kind of maintenance the spark plug must be
disconnected.
Warm up the motor for approximately 5 minutes
before putting the crusher into operation.
Caution: gasoline is highly flammable, observe the
environment before handling so as to prevent fire or
bursts.
Turn off the motor before removing the fuel cap, if
refueling is necessary.
Do not add gasoline when the motor is running or
still hot.
Pull slightly the retractable starter (5) until you find
strength and then pull it abruptly. Repeat this
operation until the engine runs. Release the rewind
starter rope gently to avoid damaging the engine's
covers.
Allow the motor to heat up for some minutes, and
return the choke lever to the initial position.
Move the throttle lever (4) to reach maximum rotation
and start the job.
To turn the motor off, close the fuel valve (1) and
allow the motor to operate until all the fuel in the
carburetor is consumed. As soon as the motor
turns off due to lack of fuel, turn the on/off button
(2) off.
Turning the motor off this way facilitates the motor
start when it has to be started again. For further
information on the motor, see the motor manual or
contact an Authorized TRAPP Technical Assistant.
To rapidly turn the motor off in case of emergency,
turn the on/off switch (2) off.
Note: for further information on the operation, refer to the
motor manual.
