TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
PROBLEM
CASSETTE sound is muffed.
Cannot record.
Recorded tape sound
is distorted.
While playing CDG and singing
with the microphone, the music
or vocal are eliminated.
No song lyrics appear on
screen.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Dirty capstan.
Irregular cassette tape winding.
The erasure prevention tabs are
broken out.
Play button and Record button were
not pressed down simultaneously.
FUNCTION SELECT not set
properly.
Dirty head.
Faulty cassette tape.
Balance is not adjusted properly.
AVC is activated to Maximum.
Playing music only track.
Video cord is not connected
properly to the TV.
Source selector on TV is not set to
VIDEO.
TV does not have video line input.
A DVD/CDG/CD/Picture CD is loaded
but the icon is not lit.

SOLUTION
Clean capstan.
Replace tape.
Replace tape or cover tab openings with
adhesive tape.
When recording, make sure that both the
Record and Play buttons are pressed down
at the same time.
After recording, rewind the cassette and
switch Function Select to Tape. Press
Cassette Play Button for playback.
Clean capstan.
Replace tape.
Adjust balance to mid point.
Adjust AVC to Minimum.
Play track that includes music and vocal.
Connect the video cord (Yellow) to the
Singing Machine's VIDEO OUT and to the
TV VIDEO IN.
Using your TV remote to select VIDEO
input or select the proper VIDEO input on
the TV itself. (Refer to page E12 under
Common ways to configure your TV or
VCR)
Connect from VIDEO OUT of the system
to the VIDEO IN on your VCR or connect to
an RF Modulator and then to the TV cable
input. Refer to "Connecting to a video
system" on page E13. Check the disc to be
sure it is compatible. (See page E5 for
details.)
Check disc to be sure it is clean.
