Take out the contact off the position 54A (#) and connect into the connector 1J0.973.333
to position 1. Connect this connector in connector 1J0.973.303 of the electrical installation
kit of the tow hook and wrap it in protective foam.
Find the red wire on the electric installation harness of tow hook terminated with a contact
coming out in the 200 mm distance from connector 1J0.973.303. Connect this wire to
position 54A (#) of the fuse box.
Replace the fuse in position 54
Find the red wire with a yellow stripe on the electric installation harness of tow hook.
Connect this wire to position 26B (#) of the fuse box. Put one 5A-type fuse to position 26.
Dismantle the instrument panel (combi-unit) and also the rotary light switch to improve the
access.
Find the grey wire of 0.35 mm diameter and 500 mm length on the electrical installation kit
of the tow hook. Run this wire through the inside of the cockpit and bring it out through
the hole for the combi-unit connector. Disconnect the grey/white wire off the instrument
panel position 13 and insulate it. Connect the grey wire of the electrical installation kit of
the tow hook to the freed position 13 (Fig. 8).
Remove fuses in position 7 and 17
Take out the grey/white wire from position 7B (#) of the fuse box and connect it to position
1 in the attached terminal board 893.971.632.
Find the black wire with a red stripe on the electrical installation kit of the tow hook (near
the aforementioned grey wire) and connect it to the freed position 7B (#) in the fuse box.
Take out the grey wire from position 17B (#) of the fuse box, and connect it to position 2 of
connector 893.971.632. Connect the grey wire of 0.5 mm diameter to the freed position
17B (#).
Replace fuses in position 7 and 17
Re-install the instrument panel and light switch to their original positions.
Connect the connector 893.971.632 to the 2-pole connector of the electrical installation kit
of the tow hook and wrap it in the protective foam part (Fig. 9).
Assembly of harness in the area of the dashboard in vehicles WITH the StartStop system
and/or automatic lights:
Disconnect the connectors from the central BCM control unit (Fig. 6) and take the unit out
of the fixation in the relay holders.
Sequence of steps in the BCM unit area:
o Disconnect the pin contact 43 (black/red wire) from the A connector (black) and
plug it into the blue connector 6Q0.972.706 to the pin position 6.
o Disconnect pin contact 20 (orange/green wire) from the B connector (white) and
plug it into the connector 6Q0.972.706 to the pin position 1. At the same time,
disconnect pin contact 21 (orange/brown wire) and connect it into the blue
connector 6Q0.972.706 to position 2.
o Disconnect the BCM unit B connector the grey wire from position 7 and insulate it.
Find four separate wires on the electric installation harness terminated with contacts that
are located bear the 6-pole connector 6Q0.972.716.
o Connect the grey/black wire into the BCM unit A connector to position 43.
o Connect the orange/green wire into the BCM unit B connector to position 20.
o Connect the orange/brown wire into the BCM unit B connector to position 21.
o Connect the grey wire into the BCM unit B connector to position 7.
Join the connectors 6Q0.972.716 and 6Q0.972.706 and wrap them with protective foam.
Place the adapter with three fuses of 15 A type to the free position of the relay holders
(Fig. 7).
