 Insert the core of the socket into its covering. WARNING: connect the wires of rear fog
lights into the holder in the socket of tow-bar as shown on pictures 2 and 2b.
Damage of the harness might occur in case of improper assembly!
 Set the socket onto the socket holder of tow bar and connect it with 3 screws M5x16. The
screw should be tightened with 3Nm tightening torque.
 In the boot, place the shorter part of the harnees along the rear side towards the control
unit. Connect the harness to the vehicle body with the stickers (See 3).
 Fix the control unit with 2 expanding nuts N.908.338.01 and 2 screws N.909.652.02.
Connect the red and black connector into the control unit (See 4).
 Place the longer part of harness of tow hook on the left side along with the current electro
installation towards A pillar.
WARNING: do not adjust the mounting of internal installation. Damage on installation and
eventual occurrence of unfavorable travel movement might occur. Fix the harness of
electro installation of tow hook to the original installation with the tightening band of the
vehicle.
 Connect the cable stitch of the harness onto the left rear screw of vehicle body (See 5). In
case the vehicle is equipped with Park Pilot, find the connector of vehicle pulled from
outside and connect it to the connector of tow hook installation (close to vehicle body
grommet).
Assembly of harness in the area of the dashboard in vehicles WITHOUT the StartStop
system and/or WITHOUT Automatic lights
 Disconnect the connectors from the central BCM control unit (Fig. 6) and take the unit out
of the fixation in the relay holders.
Sequence of steps in the BCM unit area:
o Disconnect the pin contact 43 (black/red wire) from the A connector (black) and
plug it into the blue connector 6Q0.972.706 to the pin position 6.
o Disconnect pin contact 20 (orange/green wire) from the B connector (white) and
plug it into the connector 6Q0.972.706 to the pin position 1. At the same time,
disconnect pin contact 21 (orange/brown wire) and connect it into the blue
connector 6Q0.972.706 to position 2.
 Find four separate wires on the electric installation harness terminated with contacts that
are located bear the 6-pole connector 6Q0.972.716.
o Connect the grey/black wire into the BCM unit A connector to position 43.
o Connect the orange/green wire into the BCM unit B connector to position 20.
o Connect the orange/brown wire into the BCM unit B connector to position 21.
o Insulate the grey wire on the harness of tow hook.
 Join the connectors 6Q0.972.716 and 6Q0.972.706 and wrap them with protective foam.
 Place the adapter with three fuses of 15 A type to the free position of the relay holders
(Fig. 7).
 Re-connect the connectors to the BCM unit.
Sequence of steps in the fuse box area:
 (1) NOTICE: In vehicles not equipped with the front fog lamps, connect electrical
installation kit of the tow hook red wire directly to position 53B (52B, 51B, 50B). Do
not connect connectors 1J0.973.303 and 1J0.973.333. Place one 20A-type fuse (not
supplied) to position 53B (52B, 51B, 50B). Wrap the free connector of the electrical
installation kit of the tow hook with a protective foam part.
