Meaning of the warning notices

The following warning notices are used in this document to alert the
user to potential hazards. The meanings of the warning notices are
defined as follows:
DANGER

Indicates an imminently hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in death or serious injury.

Description/Intended Use

Dräger PARAT 3160 and Dräger PARAT 3260 are filtering escape
devices for self-rescue from facility sites where organic or inorganic
gases or vapors, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride and other sour
gases, ammonia and organic ammonia compounds might occur as
respiratory poisons.
The devices are designed for 15 minutes of escape time. They are
intended for single-use.
If the concentration of the respiratory poison is high (≥1 vol%) and if
low boiling point substances of group 1 and 2 occur, the protective
effect is reduced.
Untrained users might feel that breathing is difficult.
DANGER

The filtering escape devices do not offer protection against
carbon monoxide and a lack of oxygen!
Failure to observe this can lead to death or serious injuries.
