11. UPDATING FIRMWARE

The programmer is updated from a USB memory stick or from an SD card. Follow these instructions:
1. Download the required update from the ALCAD website (www.alcad.net).
2. Make sure that the programmer is switched off.
3. Copy the .fw fi le onto a USB stick or SD card without putting it into a directory.
3. Insert the USB stick or SD card into the PS-011.
4. Turn on the programmer.
5. From the available options, select the update fi le and press the OK key.
6. Wait until the installation of the fi rmware is completely fi nished. Then press the RESET button
to restart the programmer.
Note that each update may include new features of the programmer as well as improvements in its overall
operation.
12. TROUBLESHOOTING
In the event that the programmer "freezes", press the RESET button located on the side beneath the USB
port. This will restart the system safely.
It may happen that the batteries have insuffi cient charge to allow the system to start up properly, so that
the screen freezes as the programmer is starting up. To solve this problem, it is recommended that you
remove the batteries, then put them back, and connect the programmer to the electrical mains, leaving
it connected for a few seconds. You will then be able to turn the programmer on again. We strongly
recommend, however, that in such a case you carry out a complete charging cycle of the batteries.
