GEAR LEVER HANDLE
The accessories are intended for professional fitting. Škoda
Auto recommends the fitting to be carried out by its contract
partners.

If the vehicle is equipped with a gear shift lever gaiter
with two quilt seams at the front in the direction of drive,
order the gear shift lever gaiter from the genuine Škoda
accessories, Order No. 5L1 071 350 or 5L2 071 350 (de-
pends on the type of steering).

Assembly procedure

Dismantle the original gear lever handle with the gaiter as
described in the workshop manual (see Gearbox, group of
repairs 34).
Follow the pictures to assemble the gear lever handle with
the existing gaiter (or with the additionally ordered gaiter, as
the case may be).
Important notice.
Be extremely careful when dismantling the locking ring
by blowing the hammer to avoid damaging the gear lever
gaiter (Fig. 3).
Be particular about the right positioning of the kit handle
with the gear lever gaiter (Fig. 4).
Then put the locking ring onto the gear lever handle
stirrup so that the seams on the gaiter were directed in
the offsets on the locking ring -arrows- (Fig. 5). Hand
over the dismantled gear lever handle (together with the
original gaiter, if appropriate) to the customer.
Refit the gear lever handle with the gaiter back in the vehicle
as described in the workshop manual.
