Firmly clamp the chain saw's guide bar in a vice and
block the saw chain. Apply the chain brake
To advance the saw chain release the chain brake.
Use the supplied round file (37) to file all sharpening
angles (α=35°).
Do only apply 2-3 strokes with the file.
The sharpening angles must be identical. Unequal
sharpening angles result in an erratic chain run or chain
breaking.
Hold the file at right angles (90°) to the guide bar when
sharpening.
Using the round file and the correct sharpening angle the
correct breast angle β will result.
The planing tooth lengthes (a) must be equal. Unequal
lengthes may lead to erratic chain run or chain breaking.
Once all sharpening angles are filed your saw chain is
sharp, but it will possibly not cut. There must be always
a depth gauge distance (T = distance between depth
gauge and cutting edge).
Use a flat file to file the depth gauge distance.
Be sure to chamfer the leading edge of your depth
limiter with a file. The original shape of the cutting link
must be preserved.
Only remove a little amount of material when
sharpening.
You can also sharpen your saw chain yourself by using our
electric sharpener KSG 220 (article-no.: 302360).
Cleaning of guide bar
/
Check and clean the oil outlets (A) of the guide bar and the
guiding groove (B) on a regular basis.
Remove any burr using a flat file.
Turn round the guide bar after each chain exchange /
sharpening to avoid single-side wearing.
Immediately replace a damaged guide bar.

Chain wheel

The demand of the chain wheel is particularly great. Check
regularly the teeth of the chain wheel for wear or damages.
Clean the chain wheel (18) and the guide bar fixing
device using a brush.
A worn or damaged chain wheel reduces the durability
of the saw chain and should therefore immediately be
exchanged by the customer service.

Cleaning the air filter

Clean the air filter from dust and dirt on a regular basis to
prevent
starting problems,
-
loss of output,
-
too high fuel consumption.
-
Clean the air filter every 8 operating hours, or more frequently in
dusty environments.
.
1. Open the air filter cover (21).
2. Remove the air filter (22).
3. Cover the intake opening with a clean cloth to prevent dirt
from coming into the carburettor.
4. Pull apart the both parts of the air filter.
5. Wash the air filter in a luke warm soapy solution.
Do not puff/blow out dirt particles, otherwise there is a
risk of eye injury.
6. Allow the air filter to dry well and reinsert it.
Checking / Replacing the fuel filter
The chain saw is equipped with a fuel filter. Check it regularly
and clean or replace it if required.
For this open the tank cap (9) and pull out the fuel filter (10).
If the filter is only slightly contaminated, carefully pull it from the
oil line and clean it using petroleum ether.
If it shows a great extent of contamination, replace the
fuel filter.
Checking / Replacing the spark plug
- Do not touch the spark plug or the spark plug
- Risk of burning on the hot engine.
- Wear protective gloves.
Check the spark plug and the spark gap on a regular basis.
For this proceed as follows:
Open the air filter cover (21).
Pull the spark plug connector (23) from the spark plug
(24). Remove the spark plug using the supplied wrench
(36).
The spark gap must be 0.6 to 0.7 mm.
Clean the spark plug when it is contaminated.
Install the spark plug in reverse order.
Replace the spark plug:
every 100 hours or once in a year (whichever case comes
-
first)
when the insulating body is damaged,
-
when the electrodes show excessive erosion,
-
when the electrodes show excessive dirt or oil.
-
Use the following spark plug type:
L8RTF/NHSP LD, BPMR7A/NGK, BM6A/Torch,
RCJ7Y/Champion
Comparable with reference types:
BOSCH WSR6F, OREGON OPR15Y
Damaged air filters must be replaced without
delay.
connector while the engine is running. High voltage!
Do not overtighten the spark plug.
