For optimum deaeration the Spirovent 'Air & Dirt should be
installed at the hottest point of the installation, for example in
the main flow of a central heating installation or in the main
return in a cooling installation.
• The Spirovent must be installed stress free.
• The Spirovent may not be used to support pipework
• The operation is independent of the flow direction
• Fit the supplied drain valve
• 'Air & Dirt, shut off the valve and fit the safety plug
• If the installation is tested with compressed air, the Spirovent

• Maximum allowable testing pressure 15 bar.
• Apply the separately supplied product labels if the labels on
the product are not visible, for example after the unit has
been insulated.
• The lifting lugs
may only be used for handling during instal-
lation.
• The drain tap
is meant for draining large quantities of air
during the filling of the installation:
- Take care: hot water or steam may escape: mount a hose,
resistant to the pressure and temperature concerned, to dis-
charge the hot installation water into a suitable place.
- First remove the safety plug.
- Fit the discharge hose.
- Take care that the hose can not slip off.
- Open the drain tap
gradually and let all the air escape.

may also be used to remove floating dirt:
- Take care: hot water or steam may escape: fit a hose resistant
to the pressure and temperature concerned, to discharge the
hot installation water into a suitable place.
- First remove the safety cap.
- Mount the discharge hose.
- Take care that the hose can not slip off.
- Open the drain tap
gradually for a short period.
- Shut off the drain tap
off anymore and mount the safety plug.

- Check the installation pressure after this process and fill up if
necessary.
Draining off the Spirovent 'Air & Dirt

• Remove the safety plug
• Mount the discharge hose or use the permanent connection.
• Take care that the hose can not slip off.
• Open the drain valve
• Shut off the drain valve
