4. BASS control
The low-range sound area equalizer. It is possible to boost or cut the 100 Hz
band by ±17 dB.
5. MIDDLE control
The mid-range sound area equalizer. It is possible to boost or cut the 1 kHz
band by ±12 dB.
6. TREBLE control
A shelving-type equalizer for the high-range sound area. It is possible to boost
or cut the band of 1.8 kHz or higher by ±17 dB.
7. VOLUME control
This adjusts the volume level for the clean channel.
8. CHANNEL switch
This switches between the clean channel and the overdrive channel. The green
LED indicator lights up when the clean channel is selected, and the red one
lights up when the overdrive channel is selected.
As an alternative to the CHANNEL switch, you can use a footswitch connected
to the FOOT SW1 jack to switch the channels. (Connecting the footswitch to
FOOT SW1 disables the CHANNEL switch.)
9. GAIN control
It is possible to adjust the gain when using the overdrive channel (level of over-
drive distortion.) The amount of distortion will be reduced to produce a clear and
individual sound when the control is lowered. As it is raised, the amount of
distortion increases, as does the sustain level.
10. BASS control
The low-range sound area equalizer. It is possible to boost or cut the 100 Hz band
by ±12 dB.
11. MIDDLE control & MID SHIFT pull switch
Controls the mid-band equalizer. The MIDDLE control cuts the center level by
up to –20 dB. The pull switch sets the band's center frequency to either 1 kHz or
600 Hz, so that you can change the setting on the fly. As an alternative to the
pull switch, you can use a footswitch connected to the FOOT SW2 jack to change
the frequency. (The pull switch is disabled if a footswitch is connected to FOOT
SW2.)
12. TREBLE control
A shelving-type equalizer for the high-range sound area. It is possible to boost
or cut the band of 1.8 kHz or higher by ±12 dB.
13. VOLUME control
Adjusts the volume of the overdrive channel. (Note that setting the BOOST switch
to ON will boost the volume by 6 dB, approximately doubling it.)
14. REVERB LEVEL control
Adjusts the reverb level. Note that if you connect the IFS2 footswitch to the
FOOT SW2 jack, you can use it to toggle the reverb effect ON and OFF. (This
REVERB On/Off toggle feature is available only with the footswitch. There is no
corresponding switch on the main panel.)
15. HEADPHONES jack
This is a 1/4" output jack for stereo headphones. The sound is not reproduced
through the built-in speakers when headphones are in use.
Warning
The headphone output produces a large volume of sound. Ensure that the vol-
ume has been turned down before beginning to play using the headphones, and
then slowly increase the volume until it has reached the desired level. Note that
the noise and distorted sound signals produced when inserting or removing the
plug at high volume levels will not only result in damage to the headphones, it
may also result in damage to the user's hearing.
16. POWER switch
The switch to turn the power supply on and off. Ensure that this switch is set at
OFF when the amplifier is not in use.
17. EFFECTS LOOP SEND jack
Use this jack when connecting the amplifier to compact effects units. The jack
outputs at –10 dB (not counting EQ). Connect to the input jack on the effects
unit, using a shielded cable with 1/4" plugs.
18. EFFECTS LOOP RETURN jack
Use this jack when connecting the amplifier to compact effects units. This is a
20 kΩ input jack designed for –10 dB input (not counting EQ). Connect to the
output jack on the effects unit, using a shielded cable with 1/4" plugs.
19. FOOT SW1 jack
When connected to this jack, the IFS2 footswitch operates as a BOOST on/off
switch and a clean/overdrive channel switch.
20. FOOT SW2 jack
When connected to this jack, the IFS2 footswitch acts as a reverb on/off switch
and as the Mid Shift switch (middle frequency switch) for the overdrive channel.
**Use a latch-type two-channel foot switch. The TB50R amplifier provides two
footswitch jacks, and comes with one IFS2 dual footswitch included. If using
only one footswitch, you can connect it to either jack (FOOT SW1 or FOOT
SW2). If you wish to use two footswitches together, you may purchase another
IFS2 footswitch from your dealer, or you may connect up a latch-type stereo
footswitch.
