7. Fault finding

7.1 Possible faults

Fault
Device does not change over.
Lamp does not light up.
A fault is signalled at the potential-free
output.
If the servomotor of the valve to be closed blocks, the failure output contact opens after 40 seconds due to low pressure.
If the servomotor of the valve to be opened blocks and the valve is still closed, the failure output contact opens after 40
seconds due to low pressure.
Note
If the servomotor of the valve to be opened blocks halfway opened (gas pressure is present already), the output contact of
the respective valve remains opened. Both signal lamps of the respective valve do not light up at the control panel, because
signal lamps only light up when the end positions of the valves are reached.

8. Maintenance

8.1 Safety instructions

Warning
Cleaning and maintenance must be carried out by
authorised and qualified staff.
Shut down the whole system before any work at the
system components and lines!
The system must be pressureless!
Separate the whole system from the power supply
before any work at the system components!
Wear the stipulated personal protective equipment
(protective clothing, goggles, respirator etc.) when
handling chemicals!
Observe the chemical manufacturer's safety data
sheets (MSDS) and safety instructions of the used
chemicals!
Safety installations, which have been disabled during
maintenance, must be enabled again immediately
after maintenance.
Tightly close gas-leading parts to prevent humidity
from getting in.
Check the tightness of the whole system before
recommissioning!
Cause
No control voltage is present, or connection
to control panel is interrupted.
Ball valves are closed.
Contact manometer is defective.
Operation mode switch (S3) is set to "man". Set operation mode switch (S3) to "auto".
Servomotor is defective.
Valve is defective.
Valve packings are tightened too much.
Lamp is defective.
Both container batteries are empty.
Line coming from the spare battery is
blocked.
Ball valves are closed.

contacts.

8.2 Cleaning

If necessary, clean all product surfaces with a dry and clean cloth.

8.3 Regular maintenance

Clean removed parts thoroughly with warm water
immediately after dismantling.
Caution
Before reassembling make sure, that all parts are
clean, dry and undamaged!
To maintain correct functioning, open and close the ball valves
weekly.
The tightness of the whole system must be checked monthly.
See section
5.2.1 Checking the tightness of the change-over
device.
The electrical grounding of the whole system must be checked
monthly.
Warning
If the ball valves are defective, they must be replaced
immediately for safety reasons!
For replacement of the ball valves, send the change-
over device back to the manufacturer.
Remedy
Establish power supply, check connection
lines.
Open ball valves.
Replace contact manometer.
Replace servomotor.
Replace valve.
Loosen packing slightly. If the stuffing box is
leaky, replace the valve.
Replace lamp.
Replace empty containers by full ones.
Clean line.
Open ball valves.
