Refer to Parts Section for Hanger Shaft Assembly Part Numbers.
WARNING
• To avoid an unbalanced load which may damage the trolley,
the hoist must be centered under the trolley.
• Ensure capacity of hoist does not exceed the rated capacity of
the trolley assembly.
NOTICE
• Trolley wheels ride on the top of the lower flange of the beam.

Installation Over Open End Of Beam

Pre-adjust trolley width for the beam flange measurement using
Dwg. MHP0785 on page 5 as a guide.
1.
Calculate dimensions "A" and "C" using Spacer Adustment
Tables and Dwg. MHP0785 on page 5 for guidance.
2.
The hoisting mechanism (hoist assembly) must be located on
the center line of the hoist trolley. Therefore, place spacer
washers (6) on each side of the hanger shaft (5) or bolt to
obtain the required "A" dimension between the trolley side
plates (2) for the size of beam you will be using.
3.
Place equal numbers of the remaining washers between the
side plates and the hanger shaft (5) or bolt locknuts. In every
case there should be at least 3 of the spacer washers between
the locknut and side plate.
4.
Tighten both of the hanger shaft or bolt locknuts to the
minimum torque setting listed for your hoist trolley as shown
in Specifications Table.
5.
Check "A" dimension found in Spacer Adjustment Tables.
6.
Install trolley over open end of the beam.
WARNING
• Depending on the size you select, the trolley alone may weigh
more than 107 lb (49 kg). If parts of the trolley or hoist are
dropped, they can cause severe injure or damage property.
Adequately support the trolley when lifting into place on the
beam.
7.
Check total clearance between beam and trolley wheel
flanges.
8.
Observe hoist/trolley operation. Trolley should move with the
wheel flanges as close as possible to edge of the beam. If it
appears trolley side plates could be moved closer together

and freedom of movement will not be restricted, remove
trolley from beam. Remove washers from each side of the
hanger shaft or bolt to give 1/16 to 1/8 in (1.6 to 3.2 mm)
clearance between each side of the beam flange and wheel
flanges. Slightly more clearance may be required for curved
beams. Be sure to place the removed washers equally
between the side plates and locknuts. Reinstall trolley over
open end of the beam
NOTICE
• The total clearance between the beam and the trolley wheel
flanges is 1/8 to 1/4 in (3.2 to 6.4 mm) when trolley is installed
correctly. Refer to Dwg. MHP0785 on page 5, the difference
between dimensions "X" and "W" equals the total clearance.
9.
Make certain that the capacity of the hoist does not exceed
the rated capacity of the trolley.
10. Install beam/rail stops.
11. Upon completion of installation, conduct initial operating
checks as described in the "OPERATION" section.

Installation From Beneath The Beam

The trolley must be installed from underneath the beam using the
following procedure.
1.
Calculate dimensions "A" and "C" using Spacer Adjustment
Tables and Dwg. MHP0785 on page 5 for guidance.
2.
The hoisting mechanism (hoist assembly) must be located on
the center line of the hoist trolley. Therefore, place spacer
washers (6) on each side of the hanger shaft (5) or bolt to
obtain the required "A" dimension between the trolley side
plates (2) for the size of beam you will be using.
3.
Place equal numbers of the remaining washers between the
side plates and the hanger shaft or bolt locknuts (7). In every
case there should be at least 3 of the spacer washers between
the locknut and side plate.
4.
Install locknuts against one side plate only.
5.
Spread side plates sufficiently to allow installation on the
beam. Push side plates together, ensure all spacers are
correctly positioned and install remaining locknuts.
6.
Tighten locknuts to minimum torque settings provided in
Specifications chart.
7.
Check "A" dimension found in Spacer Adjustment Tables.
8.
Check total clearance between beam and trolley wheel
flanges.
