Shut-Down Instructions
If the heater is to be shut down for cleaning, main-
tenance, or repair, follow steps 1-5. For normal shut
down, set the thermostat to a lower setting.
1. Close the fuel supply valve at the fuel source.
2. Allow the heater to burn off any gas remining in its
gas supply line.
3. Position the selector switch to OFF
4. Set the thermostat to its lowest setting.
5. Disconnect the heater from its gas and electrical
supplies.
Ventilation
With the VENT
position engaged, only the
fan motor will operate. The heater will not spark nor
ignite. This position is used for air circulation only. To
discontinue the ventilation feature, position the switch
to OFF or HEAT.
Fuel Selector Valve
Allows the user to quickly select between propane or
natural gas depending on fuel available at the jobsite,
without making a gas conversion.
The heater ships with the selector valve in the
propane gas (LP) position from the factory. See
Fig. 9 Boss 400DF shown.
Ensure the valve is positioned for the gas being
used prior to starting the heater.
