DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS OF THE CONTROL UNIT
7.1.

BATTERY OPERATION

The card has a sensor that measures the rectified Vdc voltage after the card's diode bridge. In this way a distinction is made between mains power and bat-
tery operation.
With battery operation, if the card detects a Vdc voltage <10Volt, it emits an audible warning, with the buzzer, and the flasher stays on with a steady light
while the gate is moving. In these conditions the card ensures operation for a few more opening/closing operations. When the mains power returns the bat-
tery-charging circuit on the card recharges the battery and the flasher starts working normally again, and therefore flashing, and the buzzer is silenced.
If the battery is completely flat Vdc<5Volt, therefore short-circuited, the relay of the battery charging circuit opens automatically. In this case the flasher stays
on steady during the travel of the gate when operating on mains power too. To restore the initial conditions it is necessary to change the battery.
7.2.
MEASURING CURRENT
The card measures the motor input current with a micro A/D converter and matching circuit. In the testing phase, in the laboratory, the maximum operating
current is set to 8,5A (Default value).
7.3.
CHECKING PHOTOCELL OPERATION
If the photocells test is enabled periodically, the card interrupts the supply voltage, periodically the card cuts off power (terminals +12 -12) to evaluate whe-
ther in this condition the normally closed photocell contact opens. If it does not open it means that the photocells are broken. In this case a signal is sent via
serial link to a PC or to the 950B. The test is only performed if the automatic gate system is at rest (gate closed).
7.4.
MAINTENANCE (SERVICE)
As an electronic component, the card does not need any particular maintenance. It has an automatic counter system for the operational durability of the auto-
matic gate system and the number of complete operations made so as to advise the end user about the need to service the entire automatic gate system.
During testing, in the laboratory, the Service function is disabled (Default value), if activated, on passing 20,000 complete operations the need to perform rou-
tine maintenance on the automatic gate system is signalled by a buzzer emitting a continually repeated warning until the installer turns it off. After mainte-
nance it is possible to set the service values for the next period (for example, from 20,000 to 40,000).
Anyhow, periodically, at least once a year, check the adjustments of the parameters made with the trimmers (clutch, speed and slowdown), the efficiency of
the safety devices and the operation of the flasher.
8.
ANALYSIS INSTRUMENTS
All the parameters and the adjustments of the cards can be displayed and/or modified using external instruments such as the programmer, Art. 950B, or analy-
sis software with a PC running Windows called "Analyzer". In message read mode it is possible to analyze all the events and/or error signals in real time.
Using the Analyzer program (supplied with the interface Art.6952/A) it is possible to block, edit and save all the card's parameters (dip-switch settings, radio-
control codes, potentiometer settings, etc.). After saving them in a FILE, you can use them in other installations.
For the program updating consult the site www.elvox.com on the download section.

CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN CARD EC25 AND CARD ZC25
Terminal correspondence between the current card for automatic gate systems and the previous one is given below.
ATTENTION:
The polarity in the connection SPAP-COM2 between the card EC25 and ZC25 is inverted (EC25: SPAP- COM2+, ZC25: SPAP+ COM2-)
