4.3.2 Signal level measurement in a SAT TV distribution system

Dynamics and accuracy in measuring a signal and display of frequency
received, as are included in the MC-360B, allow signal level calibrated measurements
to be performed in any SAT TV band channel (950-2050 MHz), in any place of a
distribution system. This application is particularly attractive in multireceiver
installations, where signal level reaching every user socket is essential to be known.
Moreover, BNC output connector [2] is very useful, as measurements can be
carried out in any place of system without cutting off neither SAT TV signal nor LNB
current supply. This series operating mode (by pass) allows calibrated measurements to
be completed and SAT TV signal to be received in that relevant receiver.

4.3.3 TV or FM measurement in the 48 to 854 MHz band

Insert signal into the connector [1].
Tune frequency at which measurement has to be achieved, by selecting the
suitable band [5].
To obtain a signal level, value selected by attenuators [3] and [4] is to be added
to the meter [16] dBµV reading; this value will be alternatively 0, 20, 40 or 60 dB.
For results in µV, apply following formula:
Where A = measured value in 10 dBµV

4.3.4 Acoustical output

The acoustical ouput of the MC-360B has two operating modes:
As a level indicator
By pressing control [10], a sound will be heard, tone of which will vary according
to indicator deviation, thus helping maximum level to be found.
As a modulated signal monitor
Control [10] released.
AM or FM modulated signals may be heard; they can be selected by using
switch [11].
In both cases, volume can be set through control [12].
WARNING: If output [2] is not used in a measurement, load is to be

performed through the 75 Ω BNC terminal included in
accessories, to get it adapted correctly and, consequently, to
achieve top accuracy in measurements.
