USER'S MANUAL. MC-360B
due to excessive current or for one of the reasons indicated.
Once the short cause is removed, switch on the equipment again. If trouble is
really off and unit consumption does not exceed the one specified for the MC-360B,
then the green LED (DRAIN) [8] will light.
If neither of both indicators are alight, it means no voltage reaches the LNB
because of a bad contact somewhere in the line. Do check installation again.
Once power is supplied to the LNB through any method as explained in point
4.2, meter can be set in the SAT band and in DETECTOR function [4]. By shifting the
antenna slightly, find that position in which indicator [16] shows a signal, and try to get
its maximum level.
After this first pointing, one may get positioned on that channel sought by
disabling control DETECTOR [4], by keeping key SAT [6] pressed and shifting
equipment tuning through [14]; frequency will be read at the display [15], as related with
that channel tuning.
Now, maximum best level can be found by readjusting both elevation and
azimuth, for measuring that signal received.
The acoustical indicator is very helpful to avoid level display to be watched
constantly.
In the event that signal level should be so strong that the needle reaches the
bottom of the scale, press the 20 dB attenuator key [3], in which case 20 dB should be
added to that value displayed by the instrument.
NOTE:
See below relationships between broadcast frequencies and the LNB
output for diferents frequency bands and the most common LNB.
