Instructions for the correct adjustment of
belts and shoulder straps
The first time you use your ICARO TECH or
ICARO stabilizing jacket and whenever
necessary, regulate the shoulder straps, the
waist belts, and the tank connection straps.
As previously illustrated in the technical cha-
racteristics, it is possible to adjust the length
of the shoulder straps to fit your body type
and according to the equipment you will be
wearing, as well as vary the positioning of the
two waist belts to allow a widening of the
position of the shoulder straps. This latter
adjustment may occur by changing the posi-
tion of the end of the two lightweight alloy
rings at the beginning of the two waist belts.
By adjusting the two lightweight alloy rings
on the backpack, it is possible to adjust the
length of the shoulder straps until you obtain
the proper fit (see illustration number 7). The
best fit will result with the positioning the
sternum buckle in correspondence to the end
of the sternum. (see illustration number 8)
Once you are wearing the stabilizing jacket
and have closed the sternum buckle, regula-
te the waist belts. With your hands, close
(pulling towards the outside as in illustration
number 9) the right and left belts to ensure a
perfect fit of the stabilizing jacket to the per-
son. The quick-release stainless steel buckle
will then have to be positioned in the centre
of the person (see illustration number 10).
We advise cutting the excessive belt and bur-
ning the end of the cut portion immediately in
order to avoid the fraying of the belt itself
(see illustration number 11) In any case,
remember to leave a certain margin of safety
(adequate length) to be able to eventually use
equipment of a different thickness and volu-
me. The two tank straps with special closures
on the back of the backpack will have to be
adjusted and ready for the final fastening on
the tanks. By carrying out the correct passa-
ge of the strap in the buckle, you will avoid
possible loosening during use.
