Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on or off.
Any tool that cannot be controlled by the trigger is dangerous
and must be repaired.
Disconnect the tool from the power source before making
any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the
tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the tool accidentally.
Store idle tools out of the reach of children and other
untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
Maintain tools with care and keep clean. Properly cleaned
and maintained tools are less likely to fail and are easier to
control.
Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts, and any other condition that may
affect tool operation. If damaged, have the tool serviced
before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained tools.
Use only accessories that are recommended by Ingersoll-
Rand for your model. Accessories that may be suitable for
one tool, may become hazardous when used on another tool.
Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair
personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified
personnel could result in a risk of injury.
When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement
parts. Follow all instructions in this manual. Use of
unauthorized parts or failure to follow these Instructions may
create a risk of electric shock or injury.
Always install, operate, inspect and maintain this
product in accordance with all applicable standards and
regulations (local, state, country, federal, etc.). Failure to
follow standards and regulations can cause personal injury.
Always use specified supply voltage. Incorrect voltage can
cause electrical shock, fire, abnormal operation and may
result in personal injury.
Be sure all electric cords and cables are the correct
size and all plugs and connectors are tightly secured.
Under-sized wire and loose connections can cause electrical
shock, fire and may result in personal injury.
Ensure an accessible emergency electric power shut off
has been installed, and make others aware of its location.
In the event of an accident, this shut off may minimize
personal injury.
Do not remove any labels. Replace any damaged label.
Labels provide information required for safe use of the
product.
Prevent exposure and breathing of harmful dust and
particles created by power tool use. Some dust created by
power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other
construction activities contains chemicals known to cause
cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some
examples of these chemicals are:
- lead from lead based paints,
- crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other
masonry products, and
- arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how
often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to
these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work
with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks
that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
Be aware of buried, hidden or other hazards in your work
environment. Do not contact or damage cords, conduits,
pipes or hoses that may contain electrical wires, explosive
gases or harmful liquids.
Stop using any tool if discomfort, tingling feeling or pain
occurs. Vibration, repetitive motions or uncomfortable
positions may be harmful to your hands and arms. Power
tools can vibrate in use. Seek medical advice before resuming
use.
Avoid contact with moving parts of tool. Tool and/or
accessories may briefly continue their motion after power is
removed creating a risk of entanglement or other personal
injury.
Do not modify this tool, safety devices, or accessories.
Unauthorized modifications may result in electric shock, fire
or personal injury.
Do not use this tool for purposes other than those
recommended. Personal injury may result.
Note the position of the reversing mechanism before
operating the tool. Be aware of the direction of rotation
when operating the throttle.
Use only impact sockets and accessories. Do not use hand
(chrome) sockets or accessories because the torque will cause
them to break in use.
Whenever the Angle Assembly Attachment is installed or
repositioned, the On/Off Switch must be positioned so
that the reaction torque will not tend to retain it in the
"ON" position. You may not be able to turn the tool off.
When a support handle, reaction bar or other means is
provided to react torque, it should be properly installed
and used to minimize the hazard due to the reaction
torque. Loss of tool control and injury can result without its
use.
Use a securely fastened support handle or reaction bar on
any tool when the torque or force is not easily controlled
by the operator. A reaction bar must be used against a
secure, fixed object. Loss of tool control and injury can
result without its use.
Keep clear of pinch point between reaction bar or
support handles and any fixed object in the work area.
Pinch hazard exists.
When a suspension device is used, ensure that it is
securely fastened. Failure to secure may result in loss of
control, unexpected motion, or dropping of the tool.
Keep hands away from the rotating output spindle of the
tube nut tool. A pinch point exists in this area.
Test tools with automatic shutoff or clutch devices after
repair or replacement of parts. Verify that the device is
functioning properly.
Calibrate tools with internal transducers after repair or
replacement of parts. Verify that the transducer is
functioning properly.
This tool is designed to be used in conjunction with the
Ingersoll-Rand IC family of DC Controllers. Follow all
warnings and cautions found in the Controller literature
to be used with this tool and all warnings and cautions
found in this manual. Failure to observe these warnings and
cautions could result in electric shock, fire and/or serious
personal injury.
When operated continuously for long periods of time,
Nutrunners may become hot at the spindle end of the tool.
Take all precautions necessary to avoid skin contact with the
hot surfaces. Prolonged contact may result in burns.
Inspect tool cords periodically and if damaged, have them
repaired by an authorized service facility.
When ever a tool is not being used, position the Power
Switch to the "OFF" position and un plug the power
cord.
