using the Stadia
method
1. Take reading l from the staff gauge using the Stadia hair on the reticle of the
telescope.
2. Multiply reading l by 100, we obtain the actual distance L from the target to the
measured point. (100 is the multiplication constant error of the instrument, i.e.,
L = l×100)
