If there is no printer attached, record the result be
fore removing the cuvette from the measurement
well. When the cuvette is removed, the instrument
will again perform a selftest.

If the selftest is not successful, discard the
previous test result.
After a successful selftest the LCD will display:
Ready for use

With software version 6.1 or later the last meas
urement will remain blinking on the LCD after
the selftest.
To begin a new test, begin with a new cuvette and
sample. If the instrument is not used for 80 minu
tes it automatically moves to the "Read the card"
state. Continue by reading the magnetic card.

CALIBRATION
The instrument is factory calibrated. Proper
functioning of the instrument is checked by
the selfcheck procedure prior and after every
measurement. In case of malfunction, an error
message is displayed.
The calibration data defining the overall assay
curve or cutoff value for each kit is encoded on
a magnetic card. This information is transferred
to QuikRead 101 Instrument by passing the
magnetic card through the card reader on the
instrument.

Do not spill any liquids or drop any objects
onto or into the instrument.

When performing an assay, do not use a mo
bile phone within 60 cm of the instrument.

Read beforehand and carefully follow
the QuikRead reagent instructions for use
supplied with each reagent kit.

this instrument.

The magnetic cards must not be bent, torn
or exposed to liquids or strong magnetic
fields.

Do not use the magnetic card with other lot
numbers or for other assays.

Do not mix components with different lot
numbers or different assays.

Use separate QuikRead Dispensers for dif
ferent QuikRead assays.
●
Use only power supply supplied with the
instrument.
●
Do not use batteries without built-in protec
tion.
10 HAZARDS
To alert you to potential electrical or operational
hazards, warning and caution statements are pro
vided where applicable. For your safety, comply
with all warning and caution statements.
11 WARRANTY
The manufacturer's warranty for the QuikRead
101 Instrument covers defects in materials or
workmanship for a period of one year from the
date of purchase.
The manufacturer agrees to repair or replace
the instrument if it becomes inoperative due to
the failure of any internal part of the instrument.
The warranty does not cover damage caused
by use not in accordance with instructions. This
warranty is valid for one year for the QuikRead
101 Instrument and six months for the QuikRead
Dispenser from the date of purchase. The ma
nufacturer is under no obligation to modify or
update the instrument or dispenser once it has
been manufactured, unless a manufacturing
defect is identified.
In the event of an instrument malfunction, contact
your local supplier to obtain service during the
oneyear or sixmonth limited warranty period.
12 RECYCLING
The QuikRead Instrument is a lowvoltage elec
tronic device and it should be recycled as waste
of electrical equipment. The QuikRead Instrument
is designed in compliance with the RoHS directive
(Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Sub
stances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment:
Directive 2011/65/EU). The packaging materials
are recyclable materials.
13 DECLARATION OF
CONFORMITY
The QuikRead Instrument complies with the
electromagnetic emission and immunity require
ments described in the standard IEC 6132626.
