Operation Manual

FOR YOUR SAFETY
Please read this Operation Manual before
using your charger for the first time and follow
the instructions it contains. Keep it safe for
future use or subsequent owners.
WARNING: It is vital that you read the
safety instructions before using your
charger for the first time. Failure to follow the
Operation Manual and safety instructions
may damage the charger and result in risks
to the user and others. Inform your Würth
contact immediately if the charger was dam-
aged during transport.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please note
It is forbidden to make any alterations to the
charger or make any auxiliary equipment.
Alterations of this kind may result in personal
injury and malfunctions.
• Inspect the charger for damage before each use.
Pay particular attention to the power cable. If you
find any damage, do not use the charger.
• Repairs to the charger may only be carried out by
trained personnel instructed to do so or a workshop
authorised by Würth. This will ensure the continued
safety of the charger.
• Never open the device.
• Ensure that the charger is correctly connected as
described in this manual.
• Do not charge defective batteries.
• Ensure that the battery clamps never touch or are
connected by conductive material.
• Exercise caution when working with batteries. Wear
protective equipment to protect your hands and eyes.
• Do not cover the charger or expose it to direct sunlight.
• Never charge batteries near a naked flame or
potential source of sparks.
• The instructions of the battery manufacturer must
be observed.
• The charger can only be used to charge recharge-
able lead-acid, AGM, EFB and LiFePO4 batteries.
• Do not leave the charger unattended while in use.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from
8 and above and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made
by children without supervision.
• If there is a reason to believe that the charger can
no longer be used safely, if it appears to be non-
functional, is visibly damaged, or has been dam-
aged during transport, it must be immediately taken
out of use and protected against unintended use.
• Never use the product for non-rechargeable batteries.
• During charging, the battery must be placed in a
well ventilated area.
• Store the device in a covered and dry environment
at storage temperatures of between around
-5° to 25°C.
• The battery terminal not connected to the chassis
has to be connected first. The other connection is
to be made to the chassis, remote from the battery
and fuel line. The battery charger is then to be
connected to the supply mains.
• Use original Würth accessories and
replacement parts only.
Protect the charger against damp and moisture.
The battery may emit explosive gases during
charging. Therefore, good ventilation must be
ensured when charging batteries in enclosed
spaces.
Caution - danger of explosion
Never use the charger in a potentially explosive
atmosphere or a flammable atmosphere.
Caution – corrosive
If battery acid gets onto clothing, rinse off with
running water immediately. If battery acid comes
into contact with the skin or eyes, rinse carefully
with running water and seek medical attention.
Caution – electrical voltage
Disconnect from the mains before con-
necting or disconnecting the battery clamps.
Wear eye protection
Eyes must be protected when working with
batteries as battery acid splashes may occur.
Wear hand protection
Hands and arms must be protected when
working with batteries as there may be con-
tact with battery acid.
For indoor use only
Due to its design (protection class), this
device may be used in dry indoor areas only.
Protection class II
This is a class II appliance (protective conductor)
Connect to electrical circuits with
adequate fuse protection only
The current required by the appliance can be
very high (see Technical Data). The electrical
circuit the device is connected to must have
adequate fuse protection.
Protection class IP20
This device is protected against ingress of
solid particles (D > 12.5 mm). It is not protected
against ingress of liquids in any manner.

This chargers can be used to charge either 6 V, 12 V or
24 V batteries. The chargers are suitable for use with bat-
teries with capacities between 5 and 450 Ah and can
be used without time limitation. To find out the values for
your particular model please refer to the following table.
PREPARATION
Please note
Read the safety instructions before each use and act
accordingly. Incorrect installation may result in per-
sonal injury and material damage. If you have any
questions, please contact a WÜRTH branch, your
WÜRTH sales representative or a WÜRTH-author-
ised customer service centre.
First check the battery for internal and external dam-
age. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to do this.
If the battery is visibly damaged, it must not be used.
Replace it with a new battery. For batteries which
are not maintenance-free, check that the electrolyte
level is correct before charging. If necessary, top up
with distilled water. Clean the terminals thoroughly
before attaching the clamps.
CONNECT THE CHARGER
First, connect the red + clamp to the positive battery
terminal or the charging point specified by the vehi-
cle manufacturer. (see fig. A, page 3).
Connect the black - clamp to a suitable ground
connection or the charging point specified by the
vehicle manufacturer. (see fig. A, page 3).
Connect the power cable to the mains. (see fig. B,
page 3).
Choose the charging mode - default 12 V (see

fig. C, page 3)
Choose the battery type - default WET (see fig.

D, page 3)
BULK CHARGE AND FULL CHARGE
The charger begins to charge the battery at a con-
stant current to a voltage that depends on your
model and can be found in the technical informa-
tion. During charging, charging status is shown by
the number of LEDs illuminated. Press the mode but-
ton 3s to stop the charging process. Press again to
continue the charging process. When the battery is
fully charged, the 100% charge status LED will light
up permanently green.
AFTER CHARGING
Press the mode button 3s to stop the charging pro-
cess. Remove the black - clamp first, followed by
the red + clamp. Disconnect the power cable from
the mains. Roll up the cable carefully and put the
charger in a safe place.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done
by children without supervision. After use and before
performing maintenance, unplug and disconnect the
battery charger. Use a dry cloth to wipe all battery
corrosion and other dirt or oil from the battery con-
nectors, cords, and the charger case. Ensure that all
of the charger components are in place and in good
working condition. Servicing does not require open-
ing the unit, as there are no user-serviceable parts.
All other servicing should be performed by qualified
service personnel. If the supply cord is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons, in order to avoid a hazard.
