Stopping the engine

Cool the engine by allowing it to idle for 2–3 minutes.

Move the ignition switch to the "O" or STOP position.
Throttle free play adjustment
If the unit does not return to idle speed or doesen't reach full rpm, the throttle lever free play may need to be adjusted as
follows:

Measure free play at the end of the

If adjustment is necessary, remove the air cleaner cover by loosening the two thumbscrews. Loosen the cable adjuster lock nut
and turn the cable adjustment fitting in or out until throttle lever free play is approximately 5-7 mm (0.2-0.275").

Replace the air cleaner cover, and tighten the cover retaining screws securely.

Operation

Always grip support handle with right hand and throttle handle with left hand.
Squeezing the throttle increases engine speed, causing the clutch to engage and
operate the cutters.
Releasing the throttle decreases engine speed, causing the cutters to slow, and
then stop altogether as the clutch disengages.
Use a sweeping motion when cutting, and vary throttle settings often.
Avoid cutting material larger than 1.27 cm in diameter.
