During the above steps, the program can be saved
at any time by pressing the Next/Save button for
two seconds. If no key input is received for 90
seconds, or the On/Off button is pressed to other
position, the program will exit the 7 Day setting
mode saving any of the changes.
J. Ground Fault Interrupter (GFCI)
The thermostat has an integral Ground Fault
Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) with End of Life (EOL)
feature to isolate the heating cable load and to
detect improper operation of the GFCI circuitry.
Test the GFCI circuitry monthly using the following
procedure:
Press the GFCI TEST button once to simulate a fault:
1. If red GFCI light illuminates on the GFCI TEST
button and the "GFI" symbol flashes on the
display (see Figure 18), the circuitry is working as
expected and has activated the GFCI protection
and disabled the thermostat. Press the GFCI
RESET button to restore the thermostat to normal
operation.
2. If red GFCI light illuminates and flashes on the
GFCI TEST Button and the LCD display is blank, the
GFCI circuitry is not functioning properly. If pressing
the GFCI RESET button does not reset the fault,
then thermostat has reached EOL and must be
replaced with a new thermostat.
If the GFCI trips and can't be reset, turn the On/
Off button to Off position; there is a possible fault in
the heating cable. Under NO circumstances should
the thermostat be bypassed when a fault condition
exists.
K. Power Outage Recovery
Power interruptions to the thermostat will not affect
the program settings. However, a power interruption
of greater than approximately 10 minutes will
require that the clock be reset (see "Setting the
Time and Day" above). Of course, for extended
power interruptions, the display will remain blank.
L. Sensor Icon
If the thermostat detects a fault with the Floor
Sensor, the Sensor icon will flash on the LCD.
M. Re-set to factory default values for 5/2 Day & 7
Day programs
Press On/Off button to Off mode, press and hold
Back/ Cancel and Next/Save and Down buttons for
3 seconds. The time schedules will be set to default
values.
