8.5 Replace a fuse
Electrocution hazard. Remove power from the instrument before doing maintenance or
service activities.
Fire hazard. Use the same type and current rating to replace fuses.
Replace a fuse when it is blown. Fuse failure may be an indication that the instrument has a problem
that requires service.
Item to collect:
• Fuse FU-1, temperature controller, 0.5 A
• Fuse FU-2, heater 120 V, 15 A
• Fuse FU-2, heater 240 V, 8 A
1. Remove power and stop the flow of sample and cooling water to the instrument. Refer to

on page 23.
2. Open the electrical enclosure. Refer to the illustrated steps in

Make sure to install the new fuse with the nub in the same orientation as the used fuse.
4. Close the electrical enclosure.
5. Tighten the screws on the electrical enclosure.
