7 Setup

7.1 The storage station

The storage station combines the store and detect handling functions. It can be used in an overall sequence
as either a receiving or an issuing storage area.
When used as a receiving storage area, the symbolic workpieces brought into the station are detected at the
"i-point" by a "detection" module and, depending of color/surface, are stored to one of six levels of a high-
bay racking system.
When used as an issuing storage area, the symbolic workpieces are withdrawn from the high-bay racking
system when requisitioned and transported to the next station.
