7.3 Feed and holding unit module

Workpieces are fed to the feed and holding unit either manually or from an upstream station.
An inductive sensor monitors the end position of the workpieces in the holder. From there, the workpiece
can be picked by the 2D gantry with pneumatic gripper.
The color of the workpieces is detected during the feed process by combining three sensor output signals.
A black workpiece is detected when:

The through-beam sensor indicates a rising edge and

The diffuse light sensor does not react
A red workpiece is detected when:

The through-beam sensor indicates a rising edge and

The diffuse light sensor indicates a rising edge
A silver workpiece is detected when:

The inductive proximity sensor indicates a rising edge
A transparent workpiece is detected when:

The through-beam sensor indicates two rising edges
