1. INSTALLATION
Installing STARRY SKY in concrete surfaces is a straightforward, yet time-consuming operation—as a function of the
number of points involved. To date, AFO has supplied thousands of similar systems for as many successful
installations in eighty countries.
2. POINT DENSITY
The number of points depends on subjective aesthetic appreciations. In our experience, the most successful and striking
examples have had average densities of 4 to 8 points in each square meter.
3. DISTRIBUTION
A common mistake is to distribute points uniformly. Skies look much more realistic if the points are randomly placed, with
some clustered areas and others with fewer or no points. For a more realistic effect, a perimeter of 200 to 300mm (8" to
12") should be left empty of points, except in pool designs involving lateral infinity mirrors.
4. ILLUMINATOR PLACEMENT
International safety regulations vary from country to country, but in general, 12VAC powered fixtures don't have minimum-
distance to water restrictions. When possible, lluminators should be located close to the effect to shorten fiber runs and
maximize system performance.
5. MAINTENANCE AND GUARANTEE
The polymers in the cladding of STARRY SKY's fibers are halogen free, M1 fire-retardant, and impervious to components
in cement and pool chemicals. No maintenance of fiber tips is necesary. The light conductors in STARRY SKY have a
20-year guarantee if installed in accordance with the specification of this manual.

lento en función del número de puntos. Hasta la fecha, AFO ha suministrado miles de sistemas similares para instala-
ciones en ochenta países.
2. DENSIDAD DE PUNTOS
El número de puntos depende de apreciaciones estéticas subjetivas. La experiencia sugiere que los ejemplos más im-
pactantes contienen densidades de 4 a 8 puntos por metro cuadrado.
3. DISTRIBUCIÓN
Un error común es la distribución uniforme de los puntos. Los firmamentos tienen aspecto más realista si las estrellas
están distribuidas de forma aleatoria, con zonas más densas y otras con menos o ningún punto.
Recomendamos dejar un perímetro de 20 a 30cm libre de puntos para un efecto más real, excepto en diseños de piscina
que incorporen espejos de infinito.
4. UBICACIÓN DE LOS ILUMINADORES
Las normas de seguridad varían en los diferentes países, pero en general las luminarias con alimentación a 12VCA no
tienen limitaciones. Dentro de lo posible, los iluminadores deben emplazarse cerca del efecto para reducir la longitud de
las fibras y optimizar el rendimiento del sistema.
5. MANTENIMIENTO Y GARANTÍA
Los polímeros en el revestimiento de las fibras STARRY SKY están libres de halógenos, tienen resistencia al fuego M1
y son inertes ante los componentes del cemento y los productos químicos en piscinas. Los extremos de las fibras no
precisan mantenimiento. Los conductores ópticos en STARRY SKY tienen una garantía de 20 años si se instalan de
acuerdo con las instrucciones de este manual.
