Once the fibers are attached to their respective UFF 402 supports; render over (A) roughly with a minimum 1/2" (12mm)
thickness to hold the fibers/supports in place.
Once the first coat has set (24 hours) cut flush the supports, as described on 1.1.3.
Apply the finishing (B) coat (render by hand, projected, stippled by machine or pebble-dash, etc) disregarding any pro-
tection for the fibers. Even if the fibers become caked in sand and cement or other finish, their light-carrying capacity is
not impaired.
Una vez que las fibras estén fijadas a sus soportes UFF 402 respectivos (A) extienda sobre ellas una primera capa de
enfoscado de 12mm de espesor mínimo para sujetar fibras y soportes.
Cuando el enfoscado haya fraguado (24h) corte los soportes al ras, tal como se describe en 1.1.3.
Aplique la capa final (B) (enfoscado a mano, proyectado, revocado, tirolesa, etc.) sin proteger las fibras. Aunque las
fibras se manchen o cubran de cemento u otro material, su capacidad transmisora de luz no se verá afectada.
Once the surface is dry (A), apply paint or finish as required. The fibers don't need any protection and can be painted over.
The finish must be thoroughly dry (not only surface dry) before attempting to cut the fibers, to avoid paint smudges over
the bare ends. Cut the fibers flush with the finish (B) as described on 1.1.3.
For a perfect integration on exceptionally-finished walls we recommend the polishing procedure described on 1.1.4.
Cuando el paramento haya secado (A) aplique el acabado protector o de pintura. Las fibras pueden pintarse y no nece-
sitan protección. La capa de acabado debe estar perfectamente seca (no sólo en la superficie) antes de cortar las fibras,
para evitar que la pintura o el acabado manche la punta emisora. Corte las fibras al ras del paramento (B), tal como se
describe en 1.1.3.
Para una perfecta integración o en paramentos con acabados de lujo, se recomienda pulir la punta de las fibras mediante
el procedimiento descrito en 1.1.4.
