12 - Verifications
Measure the chlorine concentration and compare
it to the concentration displayed by the machine.
A difference may be noted, depending on the
place where the analysis sample was taken. We
suggest that sampling be done at the inlet to the
skimmers or directly on the sampling stopcock.

Adding chemical products
Always turn the system off before adding chemi-
cal directly into the pool. Wait until the chemical
products have all dissolved before turning the
machine on again.

Electrode
The electrode is a wear-sensitive part, and its life
span depends on the following factors:
- Salt concentration: Never run the machine
with a salt concentration less than 3.5 g/l.
- Water temperature and winterizing: Turn off
the machine whenever the water temperature
drops to 15°C.
The electrode should be clean-looking, without
any scaling. If need be, de-scale the electrode by
dipping it in a solution of 80% water and 20%
hydrochloric acid. Next, check the reasons for
this furring-up.
- the salt concentration is too low,
- the setting for change of polarity time is
too long,
- the electrode is worn out (see
paragraph below),
- the box has an inversion defect.
The measurable voltage at the two poles of the
electrode should be about 9 volts. Measure this in
continuous V position (DC), with a salt concentra-
tion of 4g/l, water temperature above 15°C and
an electrode that is not furred-up with scale.
the voltage exceeds 10.5 volts, the electrode is
worn out and should be replaced rapidly.
Reminder : Each type of electrode needs a spe-
cific type of electrical current, indicated on the left
side label.
Example : For model 30 = 4.5 A
For model 100 = 10 A (original factory setting).

Washing the pool drainage
filter
Turn the machine off whenever you handle the 6-
way filter control valve: washing, rinsing, draining,
etc.

Mini shock-chlorination
Press on "Cl+" for 5 seconds; all of the led lights
blink and turn. The machine starts chlorine pro-
duction to increase the concentration to 5 ppm or
carries out a "forced" production run for 2 hours.
Afterwards, the machine will automatically move
out of mini chlorination-shock mode, and the sys-
tem will return to its normal cycle with the previ-
ously-chosen set point.

Change of polarity
Your machine is adjustable (see heading
The life span of the electrode depends on the
number of changes of polarity carried out. For
example: it will wear out less quickly if there is
change of polarity every 6 hours, and more quick-
ly if this is done every 2 hours.
13 - Winterizing or inactive
mode
- Store the reagent in a place where it will not
freeze (close the clamp before disconnecting the
reagent piping at the inlet to pump P2).
- Purge pump P2 by pressing continuously on
until there is no more reagent in the
pipe.
- Turn the machine off ("OFF" button).
- Empty the analysis chamber by removing the
crystal tube from the "discharge" pipe saddle,
and by disconnecting the pipe at the inlet to the
P1 pump.
