3.3 Installing the Power Pack and Cell

If you are installing an Ei™ to Goldline adaptor, it is necessary to disconnect the power to the Goldline controller.
Zodiac recommends that any procedure requiring potential contact with live electrical wiring and/or parts other than cords
and plugs connected to electrical outlets, be completed by a contractor who is licensed and qualifi ed in pool equipment
as described on the front cover of this manual. Failure to follow warning notices and instructions may result in property
damage, serious injury, or death.
To avoid property damage, serious injury or death, do not operate the electrolytic cell without water circulation. A buildup of
fl ammable gasses which can result in FIRE OR EXPLOSION.
1. Ensure placement of the cell and the power pack will meet all the installation requirements outlined in Section 3.2.
2. Screw the power pack bracket into position on a wall surface where it will mount securely, while ensuring it is no more
than 4.6 m (15 ft.) from the cell (see Figure 4 and 5).
3. Position the power pack in place by aligning the bracket with the corresponding thru-holes (see Figure 5).
4. Wire the power pack to the LOAD side of the pump or the LOAD side of the pool pump timer relay so that the
chlorinator can only come on when the pool pump comes on (see Section 3.4). Attach the bonding wire and
connect it to a common bonding point (see Section 3.5). If available, wire the power pack to an AquaLink
Control System or PDA (see Section 3.6).
5. Unscrew the locking ring from the cell in order to extract it from the upper clamp (see Figure 6).
6. Press the two (2) push-buttons on either side of the upper clamp to separate the upper clamp from the lower clamp
(see Figure 6).

7. Invert the lower clamp and place on the pipe. Mark the pipe for drilling the feeder holes (see Figure 7).
8. Drill the feeder holes using the holesaw provided. Ensure holes are clean and smooth (see Figure 8).
9. Use the pipe spacer as shown if mounting on a 40 mm (1½ in.) pipe (see Figure 9).
NOTE The pipe spacer is required for 40 mm (1 ½ in.) diameter pipe only. The spacer is not required on
50 mm (2 in.) pipe.
