• If your computer is connected to a network, to be able
to make the preliminary settings of the UPA-
P100MD, it is necessary to isolate your computer
from the network so that the connection between the
UPA-P100MD and your computer is local.

Preliminary Settings

Before using the UPA-P100MD, you need to make
certain settings on your computer. Once you make
these settings, you can access the UPA-P100MD
Digital Capture Unit User's Guide and the device's
configuration screen. Use the following procedure to
make the preliminary settings.
Note
• Please use Windows computers to configure and
access the UPA-P100MD. Other operating
environments are not supported by the UPA-
P100MD.
• The procedures in this guide are based on Windows
98 dialog boxes and windows. Screen appearance
may differ slightly in other Windows versions.

Start the computer to which the Digital Capture
Unit is connected.

On the Start menu, point to [Settings], and then
click [Control Panel].

In [Control Panel], double-click [Network]. The
[Network] dialog box appears.

On the [Configuration] tab, click TCP/IP.
Note
If there is more than one TCP/IP entry in the
[Network] dialog box, make sure that you select
the TCP/IP that belongs to the network adapter.

With [TCP/IP] selected, click [Properties]. The
[TCP/IP Properties] dialog box appears.

Click the [IP Address] tab.

On the [IP Address] tab, click [Specify an IP
address].

In the [IP Address] box, type the following:
192.168.3.201

In the [Subnet Mask] box, type the following:
255.255.255.0

Click [OK]. The [TCP/IP Properties] dialog box
closes.

In the [Network] dialog box, click [OK].

Restart your computer.
