Before operating this unit, carefully read these instructions.
Vortice cannot assume liability for any property damage or personal
injury resulting from the lack of or improper application of the
precautions and instructions contained in this booklet.

General Considerations

• The norms indicated in this booklet explain the correct installation, operation
and maintenance of this unit. Follow all these indications to assure unit
electrical reliability, mechanical reliability and long service life. Keep this
instruction manual in a safe place.
• This unit is not to be used for any other purpose than for that for which is
designed.
• After having unpacked the unit, inspect it carefully to see that it has not
undergone any damage. If you have any doubts, immediately contact a
qualified technician. Do not leave any of the packing material within reach of
children or inexperienced persons.
• If the unit has been dropped or has received a sharp blow, have it
immediately inspected by an authorized service center.
• The use of any electrical equipment requires following certain basic rules,
including the following:
• Never touch this equipment with wet or humid hands.
• Never let children or inexperienced persons operate the equipment.
• Do not connect the unit to the mains unless:
- the mains electrical data correspond to the data shown on the unit's data
plate, which is located on the lower side part of the housing;
- the mains and the outlet are adequate for the power required by the unit.
If these conditions are not met, immediately contact a qualified technician.
• Always turn off the unit when you are not using it.
• Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations, turn off the
unit's main switch. If any repairs are required, immediately contact an
authorized service center. If any replacements are necessary, always
request the use of original Vortice spare parts.
• When discontinuing the use of the unit, turn off the main switch and
disconnect the unit from the mains. Store the unit in a safe place out of
reach of children and inexperienced persons.
• The mains to which the unit is connected must conform to the existing norms.
Caution!
The unit must not be installed by anyone who is not technically
qualified in accordance with Law 46/90.
Furthermore, the unit must be installed in accordance with the existing
laws that cover the use of "exhaust hoods" in places such as kitchens
where appliances covered by the UNI CIG 7129 norm are used (gas
stoves, water heaters, etc.). In other words, if a ventilation opening does
not already exist in the room, one must be made. The cross-section of
the opening must be as prescribed in the aforesaid regulations.
The butterfly valve must only be installed in countries where the safety norms
specifically require it. The installer is responsible for seeing that the installation
is made correctly.

Special Precautions

• The unit is constructed in accordance with good practice.
• The unit must not be exposed to weather of any kind, as well as strong
sunlight.
• The unit can be installed in various ways, as shown in Fig. 2.
• Never sit on the unit or place any objects on it.
• Never immerse the unit or any of its parts in water or other liquid (except
as indicated in the "Cleaning" section).
