2 User general information
2.1 Legal requirements for the installation, operation and
maintenance of an autoclave
The current reference standards about pressure equipments:
- Directive 97/23/CE
- RD Pressure equipment regulations 1244/1979 (Spain)
Requirements for installation and maintenance are established in this manual.
2.2 Autoclave reception
Handle the package appropriately to its weight and considering it is a fragile
equipment.
Unpack and check that the contents coincide with the indicated in the "Packing
List" section. If you see a damaged component or the absence of any of them,
please advise the distributor immediately.
Keep the original packaging for some days. Properly dispose of the packaging,
separating its components: cardboard, wood and plastic.
2.3 Documentation
The following documents are provided with the autoclave:
- Instructions manual:
DO not install nor use the equipment without previously read this operating
instructions manual. These instructions are an inseparable part of the equipment
and must be available to all users.
The supplier must be consulted if there are any doubts.
J.P. SELECTA, s.a.u. has logs and documents available about this au-
toclave that can be requested if needed for the installation. Certified
safety valves, manufacturing tests, etc...
2.4 Other relevant information
The autoclave sent by J.P. SELECTA, s.a.u. for repairing or maintenance must
be decontaminated.
Any modification, deletion or lack of maintenance of any equipment is forbidden.
The use of explosives or substances which can give off vapours or form explosive
or flammable mixtures are prohibited.
If this autoclave is used in a way not specified by J.P. SELECTA, s.a.u., the pro-
tection provided and its functionality can be compromised.
2.5 Warranty period
This autoclave has one year warranty. It does not cover damages caused by an
improper use or for reasons beyond J.P. SELECTA, s.a.u.
Any manipulation of the device by personnel not authorized by J.P.
SELECTA, s.a.u., automatically cancels the warranty benefits.
2.6 Process validation tests
It is common and necessary to set and run cycle validation tests for
sample processing, to ensure an effective and suitable sterilization
process to any kind of samples to maintain the desirable features
concerning colour, flavour, etc.
