8. How to aerate / sweep correctly

Working with your lawn aerator
correctly
The Brill lawn aerator is a prac-
tical appliance for removing
moss and lawn felt. The lawn
aerator is not a scarifier which
is only used once or twice per
year. The lawn aerator works
down to the soil. It effectively
aerates the lawn as a result of
the repeated use and thereby
removes moss and lawn felt
together with moist or downtrod-
den foliage in a much more
careful way. The law should not
be higher than approx. 3 cm as
otherwise, no aerating effect can
be achieved. Long blades of
grass can also get caught in the
aerator cylinder.
Use the lawn aerator in straight
lines and not crosswise or dia-
gonally. When aerating, hold
the lawn aerator back slightly
and allow it to travel across the
law at a normal walking pace.
Do not pull the running appli-
ance back when aerating.
In order to turn the appliance
around at the end of a line,
switch the appliance of, turn it
around and then switch it on
again.
Never lift or carry the appliance
when the motor is running.
If you make contact with a for-
eign body, switch the engine
off and disconnect the battery
clip from the power battery.
Inspect the lawn aerator for
signs of damage and carry out
the required repairs before

cleaned at regular intervals.

difficult.
When leaving the appliance,
switch the motor off and discon-
nect the battery clip from the
power battery.

ing the work (Fig. 20)

lawn aerator is to be placed in
the parking position. To do so,
tilt the lawn aerator over the
splash guard.
