A
On/off button
The stethoscope is turned on by pressing
down the on/off button once. It is turned off
by pressing down a second time; or, a timer will
automatically turn off the stethoscope after
3 minutes.
B
Choosing the frequency
The stethoscope has filters for three pre-
determined frequency ranges. The filters are
controlled with a small selector switch.
1. Pulmonary (H: High-frequency sounds)
2. Wide listening range (Mid-position)
3. Cardiology (L:Low frequency sounds)
C
Volume control
The stethoscope is equipped with a variable
volume control. Turning in the direction of the
arrow reduces the volume.
D
Headphones
The headphones are designed to adapt to the
user's ears. Angle them slightly forward as you
place them in your ears by gently twisting the
speaker unit as shown in the picture. A good seal
between the eartips and the ear canal are
important for sound quality.
E
Binaural
The headphones should grip your head
comfortably, but must also provide a good seal
so that the low-frequency sounds are not
muffled. The spring tension can be adjusted to
your personal preference by pushing the binaural
tubes apart from each other several times.
F
Ear tips
An extra set of ear tips is enclosed with the
stethoscope. These are changed by holding
your thumb and index finger around the earpiece
closest to the sound unit. Twist the earpiece
carefully to the right and left, while also pulling it
out of its groove. The new earpieces are put in
place by twisting to the right and left while
pressing in towards the sound unit.
Avoid covering the opening of the ear tips
as this might harm the speakers.
G
Batteries
The stethoscope is run on two high-energy,
Lithium batteries: Model TL-5902 International
reference size: 1/2 AA, ER 14252. In normal
usage, the batteries have a lifetime of more than
four years. New batteries can be ordered from
your local dealer or bought at shops specialising
in electronic equipment. The batteries are
accessed by pushing the cover backwards as
shown in the picture. Check that the batteries
are put in with the correct polarity. The batteries
are not re-chargeable.
