Read this manual attentively before starting up the unit. Do
not throw it away. Keep it in your files for future reference.
Improper installation or attachment of equipment or acces-
sories could result in electric shock, short-circuit, leaks, fire
or other damage to the equipment. Be sure only to use ac-
cessories made by Daikin which are specifically designed
for the use with the equipment and have them installed by a
professional.
If unsure of installation procedures or use, always contact
your Daikin dealer for advice and information.

EfOrE iNSTallaTiON
Installation and maintenance should be carried out by technical per-
sonnel qualified for this type of unit, in compliance with current safety
regulations.
When receiving the kit please check its state, verifying if any damage
occurred during transport.
Identify model and version of the air inlet and outlet grilles series from
the indications stated on the carton package.

The air inlet and outlet grilles can be used with a manual fresh air inta-
ke louvre (EFA) or when an internal recovered air flow is to be created
(FWM units). They are available for all sizes of units. (See the table
below).

S: Back suction grille with fixed fins, made of anodised aluminium
complete with filter and galvanised steel plate subframe and recycla-
ble acrylic fibre air filter.
D: Discharge grille with double row of anodised aluminium swinging
fins, complete with galvanised steel plate subframe.

NOTE
The dimensions indicated by B and H are given in the ta-
ble of figure 1.
When the grilles are combined with a manual fresh air inta-
ke louvre (EFA), the opening should be made according to
figure 7. This is to limit the pressure drop of the incoming
external air. Refer to the appropriate EFA installation ma-
nual.

Use the following formula to calculate the air outlet speed V:

V is the calculated air outlet speed
Q is the operating air flow rate (see table of figure 1)

A is the effective air flow section (see table of figure 1)
Find the air side pressure drop ýpa in the diagrams of figure 2 (suction
grille S) and figure 3 (discharge grille D).
