Use the cleaning brush to brush ground coffee residues into the
lower part of the chute.
Tip: Place a paper filter or the permanent filter in the filter basket to collect
the ground coffee.
The ground coffee residues fall into the filter basket.

Close the lid of the coffee bean chute and turn the lock to the
'locked' position.

Descaling the coffeemaker

Regular descaling prolongs the life of the appliance and guarantees optimal
brewing results and a constant brewing time for a long time.
In case of normal use (two full jugs of coffee every day), descale the
appliance:
2 or 3 times a year if you use soft water (up to 18dH);
4 or 5 times a year if you use hard water (over 18dH).
Contact your local water board for information about the water hardness
in your area.

Open the water reservoir lid.
Fill the water reservoir with 6 cups of white vinegar (4% acetic acid)

and 6 cups of water.
Place a paper filter (no. 4) in the filter basket and close the filter

basket holder.

Place the empty jug on the hotplate.

Press the 'grinder off' button and press the START/STOP button to
start the brewing process.
Wait until half of the vinegar-water solution has flowed into the jug.

Then press the START/STOP button to stop the brewing process
and let the solution soak for at least 15 minutes.

Press the START/STOP button to switch the coffeemaker back on
and wait until the rest of the solution has flowed into the jug. Then
press the START/STOP button to switch off the coffeemaker.
Empty the jug and throw away the paper filter.

Fill the water reservoir with cold water and press the START/
STOP button to start another brewing process. Let the coffee
maker complete the entire brewing process and empty the jug.
