This device is designed to receive most 5‐litre kegs, including kegs with an integrated gas cartridge (type Heineken®).
This device allows cooling a 5‐litre keg from 25°C to 5°C in 9 hours.
You can also put it in the refrigerator for 6 to 12 hours before placing it in the device for you to use it as soon as it is
connected.
To avoid an excess amount of foam and obtain a perfect drawing, the beer should always be cooled to a minimum
temperature of 6°C.
IMPORTANT, WARNING ! Never cool beer kegs in the freezer. The contents can freeze and damage the keg, the beer
would lose its quality and the keg could explode.
Depending on the type of keg you have bought, you should equip yourself with cutting nippers (not supplied) and , if
necessary, with the orange universal joint (Fig e‐16) delivered with your device. Be sure to check that our keg's cover is
not bumped to guarantee its utilization in your device.
In any case, follow the indications concerning the internal pressure marked on each beer keg.
IMPORTANT !
Before piercing the plug located on top of the keg, always follow the indications marked on the keg to eliminate
excess gas and let it rest for a sufficiently long time to avoid a release of foam through the ventilation hole.
a) Keg with a rubber plug :
This type of plug allows you to pierce the keg using the piercing rod that you will have
previously screwed onto the distribution unit.
b) Keg with mixed plug :
With this type of plug, it is necessary before doing anything else to evacuate the air from the keg following the
instructions indicated on the keg. Then this part should be removed by pulling strongly on it to expose the second part
of the plug which can be pierced like in the first case.
c) Keg with aeration plug :
It is impossible to distinguish an aeration plug from a mixed plug
since they are visually identical.
With the aeration plug, proceed like with the mixed plug : open the
plug to let the air evacuate and then remove it by pulling abruptly on it.
Then use the cutting nippers as follows :
Place the cutting nippers under the lock ring and cut the plug. A part of the plug will fall into the keg ; this is normal and
will not alter the beer's taste.
Then install the universal plug (Fig e‐9) supplied with your device with the tapered part facing downward.
