1. The following instructions should be used to mount the gooseneck. Care and attention to detail will
ensure a quick quality installation. Check parts against parts list to become familiar with parts in kit.
(See Fig. 1)

If the truck is raised, be sure that the truck is properly blocked and restrained to prevent the truck
from falling. Failure to do so may result in the truck suddenly falling, causing death or serious
3. Do NOT install mounting rails over plastic bed liners. Plastic bed liners must be cut out of the way.
Base rails may be installed on spray in liner. Note: Consult installer for recommended curing time.
4. Use only the supplied bolts, nuts and washers to install this kit. All bolts and nuts are Grade 5 unless
specified otherwise.
These instructions are guidelines only. Actual installation is the responsibility of the installer and
the owner. Always measure truck and trailer before installing hitch to be sure that there is
5. Position the Base Rail Kit in the truck bed. Place the Gooseneck Ball Platform onto the base rail and
secure at four locations, using the hitch pins and hair pins supplied with this kit. See Figure 1.
6. Install base rails as directed in the Installation Bracket Kit instruction sheet that applies to your truck.
Otherwise; if base rails are present then proceed to next step. Check securing pins for freedom of
movement. Adjust the bed rail position as necessary, before tightening the four attachment bolts to
prevent binding of pins.
7. Remove the gooseneck ball platform from the installed base rails.
Check for obstructions before drilling. Failure to do so could result in damaged fuel or brake
lines, structural members, etc. HUSKY TOWING PRODUCTS does its best to communicate tow
vehicle manufacturer changes; however, it is ultimately the responsibility of the installer to
8. Locate the center hole in each base rail. Using these holes as guides, drill a 21/32" diameter hole
down through the truck bed
9. Drop a 5/8" carriage bolt, supplied with the gooseneck platform kit, down through the center hole in
the bed rails and through the drilled holes in the truck bed. Check the corrugations in the truck bed
floor and place the spacer plates #8 in the correct location as shown on Illustrations 2 or 2a. Tighten
the two 5/8 carriage bolts to 150 ft. lbs. torque. See Figure 2
10. Place the gooseneck ball platform back on the base rails and secure at four locations, with hitch pins #
6 and hair pins #7.
11. When attaching safety chains, secure the chains through the slots in the ball platform
