1. Disconnect the earth cable from the battery
To avoid short-circuits during fitting and for safety reasons, the earth cable must, without exception,
be disconnected from the battery before starting work (risk of fire)!!
Attention: on-board computer/immobiliser!
Disconnection of the battery can lead to a loss of stored data!
Observe the manufacturer's instructions!!
Before starting work, read out the error memory!
2. Mount the 14-core wiring harness
Remove the luggage compartment cover, rear body panel trim as well as the luggage compartment
side trim on the left and right side.
Remove the bottom cover of the vehicle's 40 mm opening for the wiring harness for the towing hitch
in the rear panel at the back on the left.
Guide the wiring harness of the swivellable towing hitch through the intended opening to the inside
and attach to and click into place on the trailer connection unit. Connect the cable eye of the brown
wire from the wiring harness to the bottom vehicle's earthing point on the left side of the luggage
compartment.
Position the rubber grommet fitted to the wiring harness and insert into the opening hole from the
luggage compartment to the outside.
The swivellable towing hitch wiring harness is not part of this electrical installation kit. This
belongs to the scope of delivery of the swivellable towing hitch!
Insert the three 6-pin and 2 x 10-pin connector housings of the 14-wire wiring harness into the
intended slots in the trailer connection unit and click into place.
Then secure the trailer connection unit at the intended position on the rear left side when using the
required module mounting (not included in the electrical installation kit).
