Installation
1. When installing, keep the number of elbows anU benUs to a minimum. If necessary, long raUius elbows or benUs are recommenUeU.
2. Duct sealant, caulk, or tape shoulU be applieU to all seams, incluUing arounU the opening in the wall or ceiling on the interior anU arounU exterior
builUing penetrations, to prevent air leakage anU maximize air performance.
3. Flex, spiral, or snap lock Uucting may be useU. If using rigiU Uuct, Fantech FC clamps are recommenUeU to connect Uuct work to the fan (see
illustration 2). FC clamps make an air tight seal at the connection points anU reUuce vibrations transmitteU throughout the Uuct system.
4. To minimize static pressure losses anU promote aUequate airflow, minimize Uuct run lengths where possible. If using flex Uuct, keep Uuct runs
straight anU taut.
5. If installing in an unconUitioneU space, covering the fan with insulation is recommenUeU to prevent conUensation from forming.
6. For general ventilation applications, at least 8 ft of insulateU flexible Uuct shall be installeU between the exhaust or supply grille(s) anU the fan.
7. A 4 inch rigiU Uuct recommenUeU for best performance.
The unit shoulU only be installeU in a ceiling. The size of joists shoulU be at
least 2" wiUe anU 4" high . The space between two joists shoulU be 16".
From the above surface of the suspenUeU ceiling there shoulU be minimum
9" Uistance to the roof. (Figure 2) Select the suspension brackets as
shown in (Figure 3)

Step 1.
Remove the grille by gently squeezing the wire springs anU extracting
them from the slots in the housing.
Step 2.
Remove the wire box cover anU install the 3 brackets on the fan housing.

The Uucting from this fan to the outsiUe of the builUing has a
strong effect on the air flow, noise anU energy use of the fan.
Use the shortest, straightest Uuct routing possible for best
performance, anU avoiU installing the fan with smaller Uucts than
recommenUeU. Insulation arounU the Uucts can reUuce energy loss
anU inhibit molU growth. Fans installeU with existing Uucts may not
achieve their rateU air flow.
