BORT Stabilo Lumbar Back Brace

Intended purpose
This medical device is a brace for relief and functional mobilisation of the lumbar spine.
Indications
Major lumboischialgia without absolute indication for surgery, when surgery is contraindicated, when
surgery is rejected, major radicular and pseudo radicular lumbar syndrome (cautionary, therapy-resistant),
spondylolisthesis with severe lumboischialgia, severe lumbar deformity with hypermobility associated with
facet syndrome/osteoarthritis, condition after spine surgery, e.g. dorso-ventral/dorso-lateral fusion, spinal
column compression (single level with deformity and multi-level), thoracic surgery with severe prolapse/
lumbar instability, spinal canal stenosis with paresis, post-traumatic vertebral fractures with significant
spinal damage.
Contraindications
Impaired lymphatic drainage including unclear soft tissue swelling, impaired sensation and circulation in
the specific body region, skin diseases in the specific part of the body.
Application risks/Important notes
This medical device is a prescribable product. Discuss the use and duration with your treating physician.
The expert staff from whom you have received the medical device will select the appropriate size and
instruct you regarding its use.
– remove the medical device prior to radiological examinations
– in case of numbness, loosen the medical device and remove it if necessary
– in case of persistent complaints, consult the physician or specialist retailer
– use the medical device in accordance with therapeutic needs
– only use other products simultaneously after consultation with your physician
– do not make any changes to the product
– do not wear it on open wounds
– do not use in case of intolerance of one of the materials used
– no re-use – this medical aid is intended for treating one patient
– whilst wearing the support, please neither use any creams nor ointments on or around it as they can
destroy the material
Fitting instructions
Putting the brace on:
1. Open both the front clasps.
2. Unlock both side-positioned, round Boa fasteners by pulling them upwards.
3. Ensure that a gap of approx. 6 cm is given on the back between the pelvic girdle semi-shells. Should
this not be the case, pull some of the pulley out of the Boa fasteners and pull the pelvic girdles apart.
