2.1 Important safety guidelines for batteries
If you use batteries (or rechargeable batteries), please follow these instructions:
• Keep the batteries always away from children!
• Do not throw batteries into fire!
• Never charge batteries, which are not suitable for recharging.
• Do not short-circuit the connections.
• Never open, solder or weld the batteries!
• Never expose batteries to extreme temperatures and conditions
e.g. moisture, strong sunlight, severe mechanical stresses, etc.
• Check the batteries regularly and remove empty batteries.
▪ CAUTION RISK OF DEATH! Batteries can be swallowed. Seek medical assistance
immediately if batteries are swallowed!
▪ RISK OF FIRE AND EXPLOSION! Ensure that the batteries are correctly inserted.
Note the (+) plus and (-) minus polarities on the battery and on the appliance.
▪ RISK OF INJURY! If batteries have leaked, remove them using safety gloves and a
cloth from the battery compartment and dispose of it properly.
▪ RISK OF INJURY! Prevent battery acid from coming into contact with skin and
eyes. If the liquid comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse or wash the area
immediately with clean water. Seek medical help immediately!
