Using the chain saw with one hand only
Using the equipment with one hand is dangerous and
discouraged. Whenever possible, use a hand saw. This
will reduce the risk of accidents.
Cutting with one hand should be done only in the
following situations:
•
The user cannot maintain a safe position using the
pruning chain saw with both hands because he
needs one of them to lean on the tree;
•
The operator must carry out a cut, perpendicular
to his or her body while fully extended;
It is important to remind the user to:
•
Cut with the top or bottom of the bar and chain,
but avoid the kickback zone;
•
Never hold the cut part;
•
Never attempt to catch parts that have just been
cut.
Freeing a trapped pruning chain saw
If the chain saw gets stuck during a cut:
•
Turn off the pruning chain saw and secure it to the
tree or a safety rope;
•
Pull out the pruning chain saw, if necessary, from
the side of the cut until the branch moves.
•
If necessary, make some cuts with another
pruning chain saw or a hand saw, at least 30 cm
from the stuck pruning chain saw.
Possible cuts should be made first on the part of the
branch to be cut to prevent the equipment from falling.
Fuel
The engine should run on a mixture of 95 unleaded
petrol and 2-stroke engine oil in the ratio of 1:40 (1L of
two-stroke engine oil for every 40L of petrol).
1. Put the 2-stroke engine oil in a fuel mixing bottle;
2. Add petrol to 2-stroke engine oil;
3. Place the mixing bottle cap and shake carefully to mix
the oil with petrol;
Unsuitable fuels or with a different ratio than
recommended may lead to irreversible damage to the
engine. Low-quality petrol or oil can damage the engine,
gaskets, hoses and the fuel tank.
Keep the fuel mixture in proper and adequate
containers in a safe, dry, cool place protected from
sunlight. Fuel mixture ages; mix only the amount
needed for a few weeks. Do not store or use fuel with
more than 30 days.
Shake the fuel mixing bottle before refueling.
Pressure may form inside the tank, for this reason
it shall be opened carefully. Avoid direct skin
contact and inhalation of flammable vapours.
When refilling the fuel tank, do not add petrol above the
maximum level of the filler cap.
