You must use the C-Shim to install
carrier to a 2" hitch receiver.
• Slide the shim onto the
carrier base.
• Using a screwdriver,
install the screw to keep
the shim in place.
• 1-1/4" hitches do not
require the shim.
Install the carrier to the hitch.

The shim must be
installed as
shown, with

CAR " inserted
into the vehicle's
hitch receiver.
• Insert the large bolt with
a washer.
• Tighten completely.
• Attach another washer
and the nut.
• Tighten completely
(20 to 50 ft-lb).
ASSEMBLE THE CARRIER.
• Slide the support arms
assembly onto the main
support tube.
• Secure with bolts, washers
and nuts.
• Tighten completely.
Remove the pin from
the safety rod.
• Insert the rod in the carrier's base.
• Attach the pin again.
