Check the hose for damage and leaks. Replace the hose if it leaks, has kinks, the reinforced cover
is visible or it has blisters or bulges higher than 1 mm. In case of doubt always contact the Holmatro
dealer who can assess the seriousness of the damage.
•
Replace the hose no later than 10 years after the date of manufacture, regardless of its use and
external appearance. The date of manufacture is part of the test code, the first 4 digits of the test
code specify the date of manufacture of the hose (yymm*****).
8.4.5
Hydraulic oil
•
Check the hydraulic oil level. The plunger of the tool must always be retracted. The maximum oil
level is 1 cm below the filling cap. Use only the hydraulic oil specified by Holmatro.
•
Replace the hydraulic oil after every 300 working hours or sooner if the oil appears to be
contaminated.
•
Release the pump flange if the oil is severely contaminated to allow cleaning of the tank and oil
filters.
8.4.6
Vent the pump
•
Connect the pump in the normal manner.
•
Depress the foot pedal at "RELEASE".
•
At the same time depress the air valve using a screwdriver. The air valve is located below the mark
"PUMP" of the foot pedal.
•
Leave the pump operating in that manner for approximately 15 seconds.
•
Check whether the pump is developing pressure again. If not, vent the pump again.
8.5
Yearly dealer maintenance
We recommend having the equipment inspected, checked, set and tested once a year by a Holmatro
Certified Technician who has the appropriate knowledge and the necessary tools (see also section 1.7).
The Holmatro dealer can organize the yearly maintenance for you on a contract basis.
8.6
Long term storage
•
Ensure that the equipment is completely depressurized.
•
Store the equipment in a dry, well-ventilated area. Use additional preservatives on the external steel
parts.

Decommissioning/Recycling
At the end of its service life the equipment can be scrapped and recycled.
•
Make sure that the equipment is put out of order to avoid any use.
•
Check that the equipment does not contain any pressurized components.
•
Recycle the various materials used in the equipment such as steel, aluminium, NBR (Nitrile
Butadiene Rubber) and plastic.
•
Collect all dangerous substances separately and dispose of them in an environmentally responsible
way.
•
Consult the Holmatro dealer about recycling.
